Gorgeous DIY Accessories & Swedish Fashion

Gorgeous DIY Accessories & Swedish Fashion

We love dressing up around here. My girls love making necklaces, designing crowns and running around in twirly dresses. I love dressing up too and it’s even better to find clothing that allows me to comfortably run after the kiddos. Our warm weather weeks are filled with playing in the yard and splashing in the inflatable swimming pool. I recently discovered a gorgeous clothing line, Gudrun Sjödén, which offers many tunics, dresses and accessories that are comfy and stylish.

This Gudrun Sjödén tunic and skirt are two universal basics I can wear with a variety of outfits. The tunic is perfect for layering over leggings or shorts. When I wear leggings I like to wear longer tops and boots and this tunic is the perfect length. Gudrun Sjödén offers many gorgeous tunics in a variety of styles and colors to coordinate with any season. I love the colorful designs and patterns inspired by Swedish styles and culture.

This woven tunic features beautiful flowers and birds in the “Sånglärka” cutout print and a sleeveless and airy design with a flap shape at the hem. It is flattering for any body type and coordinates with pants, leggings, shorts, and skirts.

Gudrun Sjödén’s organdy skirt slip is designed to wear under a dress or long top. The material is opaque so it’s intended to be layered. I love the lacy accents along the bottom and shimmery lavender material. This comfy skirt has a flared style with an elastic waist.

I also like how I can mix and match styles. To wear this skirt with any top I simply layer it over another long slip so that it’s not as transparent. This skirt is a pretty neutral lavender hue that is gorgeous on its own.

These fashions are fun for everyday wear and easy to coordinate with a variety of styles. Gudrun Sjödén clothing is designed for women who aren’t afraid to stand out in a crowd. I love their colorful floral patterns and flowey fabrics that are perfect for warm summer days.

DIY Bird’s Nest Necklace

This gorgeous outfit would be perfectly accented by a DIY bird’s nest necklace. I made one of these necklaces at a mom’s night out and they are super easy and customizable! Bird’s nest necklaces are fun because you can include a pearl or bead for each child in your family. These cute necklaces make great gifts too!

To make a bird’s nest necklace, coil wire to make the nest before adding the beads inside. I added a bead for each of my girls and baby boy.

  1. Loosely coil wire to form the nest leaving a long trailing end (12″), gently bending small segments to create the messy nest look.
  2. Wrap the long end of the wire around the coil in several places to hold the nest shape together.
  3. Crisscross the long end of the wire across the center of the nest with a few artistic loops.
  4. Thread the beads onto the long end of the wire and secure them in place by wrapping the long end of the wire around the nest exterior a few more times and trimming the end.
  5. Add a jump ring and chain to finish your DIY bird’s nest necklace pendant.

Sparkly Amulet Necklace

My girls love making jewelry for themselves especially when it’s inspired by something they love. My daughter and I made a Sofia the First amulet using cardboard and glitter paper to accent her dress up dresses. This glittery magical amulet turned out so cute!
