How do you like to get ready for fall? When the weather starts getting cooler I enjoy getting organized, establishing a new family routine and cleaning out my closets and cabinets. It’s always fun to stock up on some new accessories and beauty products! Here are my latest favorites for keeping up with taking care of my face, hair and nails.
Natural Color & Shine-Free Face
After the hot weather of summer it’s nice to experience the refreshing coolness of fall. Colder weather however often means dryer air, so it’s important to take care of your skin accordingly. Lately I’ve been using my regular gentle moisturizer and limiting excessive makeup. Natural mineral makeup is a great way to achieve a refreshed look. Mineral Hygienics foundation is a lightweight mineral powder that goes on smoothly and helps hide blemishes without causing breakouts. The foundation powder also helps minimize oily skin and doesn’t become cakey.
For my makeup routine, I generally wash my face, apply a light moisturizer, allow it to dry and then brush on a light layer of Mineral Hygienics foundation. The mineral powder is easy to layer and you can even add contour by combining subtle shades that match your skin color.
I also use the Mineral Hygienics finishing powder which acts to reduce shine. I brush on a light layer as the final step of my makeup routine and it keeps my combination skin shine-free throughout the day. In addition to foundation and finishing powder, Mineral Hygenics also offers high quality make-up brushes for smooth application as well as bronzer, blush, concealer and eye shadows. All products are made using natural formulas that use the fewest number of ingredients in exactly the right combinations for effective results. If you love wearing makeup and appreciate natural products I’d definitely recommend checking out this mineral makeup brand.

Healthy & Shiny Hair
The changing seasons can also be hard on your hair. This summer my hair was sun-bleached and exposed to chlorine and lake water. Colder weather can make hair dry and frizzy with static electricity. I like to keep my hair shiny in all seasons by using high quality conditioner with ingredients such as coconut and tea tree. I also sometimes give my hair a vinegar rinse to keep my locks shiny. To make a vinegar hair rinse, I mix together 1/2 cup water with 1/2 cup white vinegar. It’s easy to keep a bottle of vinegar in your bathroom and quickly make a vinegar rinse in a cup to use in the shower. Just keep your eyes squeezed tightly shut while you are pouring it on and rinsing the vinegar out!
Photo-Perfect Natural Nails
After finishing up some gardening and yard projects this summer, I started regularly painting my fingernails and caring for my cuticles. I like using warm pink nail polishes as well as muted aquas and cool purples. Really, just alternating my nail polish color is fun! To maintain my healthy nails, I regularly use naturally formulated lotion on my hands and rub coconut oil into my cuticles. I keep my fingernails trimmed to a medium-short practical length. I also go through my nail polish often and throw away any old dried-out polish to make way for new 3-free nail polish colors!
Fall is a great time to get organized within your home lifestyle choices and beauty routine! I hope you enjoyed my beauty tips for caring for your face, hair and nails!
