I love changing seasons. I always look forward to winter turning into spring and summer turning into fall. With warmer weather right around the corner, I’m already thinking about all the fun things we can do at the park, going on family walks, and taking the kids to our local lake “beach” for some toddler water play. I’ve also begun thinking of ways to keep my little ones safe from the sun as well as my own skin. It’s easy to take care of your skin with a simple healthy routine. I have my trusty skincare regimen for all seasons. In the summer I break out the natural sunscreen and chemical-free bug repellent and in the winter I use nourishing moisturizers to keep our whole family healthy and happy.
Minimize Exposure to Direct Sunlight
The easiest thing to help minimize aging and skin damage is to just limit your exposure to the sun. I regularly wear sun glasses with a 100% UV coating to protect a good portion of my face. Make sure your sun glasses actually protect against UV rays, some of the cheaper brands of sunglasses could be incorrectly labeled. You can always have your local optometrist check your sunglasses to see if they indeed have a UV coating. If you are in direct sunlight it’s always a good idea to wear a natural sunscreen.
Use Skin Revitalization Products
My face is the first place I begin to notice wear from the sun. Sunglasses and hats work wonderfully to protect sensitive skin from the sun. I also enjoy using replenishing products such as Hyla3D HA Activating Complex to rejuvenate my skin and to diminish fine lines and wrinkles on my face. The light serum is simple to apply to replenish and maintain youthful levels of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) on the skin. Hyla3D takes a 3-dimensional approach to restore skin’s hydration, youthful volume and smoothness. It also works to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles caused by aging and sun damage.
Key ingredients in Hyla3D work in 3 modes to address the needs of healthy, hydrated and rejuvenated skin.
- Multiple molecular weights and forms of HA result in deep penetration and rapid, long-lasting, continual hydration.
- Advanced technologies enhance native HA within the skin.
- Peptides and antioxidants boost collagen and elastin. As a result, Hyla3D restores hydration and 3-dimensional volume, while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for a more youthful, contoured look.
Regularly Apply a Light Moisturizer
I can tell right away if I skip using moisturizer on my face. My skin gets rougher and feels tight. A good lightweight moisturizer is a skincare essential to apply at night and under daily makeup. Keeping my face moisturized significantly helps prevent wrinkles from developing. My moisturizer also increases my overall comfort and skin quality. Taking care of my skin helps save money and time during my morning routine; the better my skin looks the less makeup I need to apply! I love having a fresh, natural look but I also don’t mind covering up problem areas to feel more polished for my day.
Drink Lots of Fluids to Maintain Healthy Skin
Regular hydration is a great essential for maintaining healthy skin. I try to regularly fill up my straw cup of water and keep it with me so I remember to regularly drink water and form healthy habits. Our skin is our body’s biggest organ and the skin’s quality and level of moisture significantly benefits from plenty of regular hydration. Stay away from sugar and instead drink water with fresh lemon juice (which also helps combat bladder infections), herbal iced tea, or ice water infused with cucumber and mint. Refreshing and delicious!
A silicon drinking bottle is a great basic for keeping up with your hydration. It’s easy to fill and clean and it’s even scrunchable and can be rolled up to fit compactly in your bag. Bubi drinking bottles are great for hiking, exercising, or just for drinking your recommended 8 cups of water per day. These cool bottles come in a variety of colors and sizes.
You can help your skin stay healthy and glowing with these easy tips. I find my whole family benefits from a regular skincare routine in all seasons, but especially in seasons that are freezing cold or extra hot. It’s a lot easier to help your skin maintain its natural healthy qualities by being proactive, rather than trying to fix skin issues later.
