Mother’s Day is a celebration of a very important person! Moms pour out so much love and care upon their families and many of us moms enjoy every moment of it! Mother’s Day is a special opportunity to treat your mom to some of her favorite things as a way to say “Thank you!” Here are some of my favorite things that many other moms will love too! Pick up any of these fun gift ideas for your own mom, or send the list along to your husband. 🙂
I didn’t receive any of the items mentioned for review, they are all my own personal favorites. This post includes affiliate links.
Mommy Tea & Treats
What better way to spend Mother’s Day than to have a tea party! If you have daughters, you can include them too! These yummy treats of homemade Lady Fingers, Lemon Curd, and strawberries add delight to an otherwise ordinary cup of coffee or tea. Some of my favorite must-haves for tea time include a tea infuser for loose leaf tea, homemade or mix-based scones, and a selection of loose leaf tea.
Homemade Lemon Curd
Make your own Lemon Curd to spice up your tea party! Zest 3 lemons and blend the zest with 1 1/2 cups sugar in a food processor. Cream 1/4 lb. butter in another bowl and beat in the sugar and lemon mixture. Mix in 4 eggs, 1 at a time, and then add 1/2 cup lemon juice and a pinch of salt. Mix until combined. Cook the mixture on low about 10 minutes until thickened, stirring continually. Remove from heat and refrigerate.
Iced Tea is another great way to enjoy tea on a warm day! This tea infuser pitcher steeps tea bags or loose leaf in a tea basket, keeping the tea leaves out of the beverage. Simply place 5-6 tea bags (or the equivalent of loose leaf) inside the basket, pour a cup or two of hot water into the pitcher, and add ice once the tea is steeped. I love my tea infuser and I can even place it outside on a sunny day to make sun tea!
Mommy Spa Day
A Spa Day is a wonderful way to tell your mom you love her! Some of my favorite things are wonderfully fragrant candles, Trader Joe’s Coconut Body Butter, and homemade body products!
Coconut Body Butter is such a great way to moisturize naturally with luxurious coconut oil and Shea butter. Trader Joe’s body butter leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth, and the 8oz container goes a long way! I’ve purchased this many times.
Sudsy Dough is a new bath product I am excited to introduce in May! This scented soap dough doubles as cleansing body wash and moldable aromatherapy. Squeezing Sudsy Dough can help relieve sore hand muscles and the product rubs on silky-smooth for shaving and washing in the tub. It’s infused with coconut oil, Shea butter, and natural fragrances. I created Sudsy Dough to help kids enjoy bath time, but it’s fun for moms too!
DIY Sugar Scrub is very easy to make; I whipped up some this morning. Combine 1/4 cup coconut oil, 1/4 cup olive oil, and 2 cups sugar. Homemade sugar scrub softens skin without leaving behind chemical residue. The gentle massaging application of homemade sugar scrub on the skin also enhances blood circulation. Use to help soften your heels and elbows or after shaving as a soothing exfoliate.
Give your mom a new look with beautifully practical JA-VIE flats, a stylish hair accessory, a Willamy Collection crystal bracelet, a new phone cover (available in several colors and mine’s survived several drops) or a decorative home accent. Personally I love hair accessories; silk flowers, rhinestone-accented pins, and neutrally-floral clips. Shared hair accessories are a huge benefit to having two daughters. 🙂
Bracelets are a stylish way to dress up an outfit without attaching too much attention. I love my collection of sparkly bracelets. I bought the leaf bracelet at a secondhand sale and the beautiful crystal & leather wrap bracelet is from the Williamy Collection. Celebrities also love Willamy wrap bracelets! Your moms is sure to love a bracelet that you choose especially for her.
Plugin Fragrance Warmers double as an accent light and a room freshener! I have two that I keep in the bathrooms. Simply place a wax cube in the top and flip the switch. It’s fairly child-safe since there is no flame, although the top does hold a small quantity of melted wax. To switch out the fragrance, let the wax cool, scoop it out, and replace it with a new scented wax cube!
I couldn’t end my Mother’s Day gift idea post without mentioning chocolate. Any chocolate will do, actually. I love dark chocolate, chocolate with sea salt, and salted caramel chocolate. Yum! What’s your favorite chocolate?
Make your mom feel very special this Mother’s Day with any of these ideas. She will love the thought you put into remembering her! Or if you’d like to pamper yourself, send these ideas to your husband to help him out — he will appreciate your thoughtfulness too!
