It’s been a busy week at our house. We made lots of treats this week, finished up decorating for Christmas and played in some beautiful, fluffy snow. It’s not uncommon to have snow this time of year in North Idaho, but the shimmery snowflakes definitely make the holidays feel more special. My daughter wanted me to do her hair in a creative style for Christmas, so I created a DIY bow hair style for her. Learn how we did it!

Family adventures can be a great holiday gift idea! It’s fun to enjoy a change of scene during the colder months of winter. Great Wolf Lodge offers a memorable family getaway at their Snowland Extravaganza, packed with family fun and winter festivities from November 24 to January 4.
Baking Christmas cookies and holiday treats is a tradition for most families. My girls are old enough now that they can help in the kitchen! This week we made gingerbread cookies cut into hearts, stars, snowflakes, and gingerbread men. My girls incidentally don’t like the taste of gingerbread (or most other cookies other than chocolate) but they had a lot of fun baking holiday cookies for our friends and neighbors! All you need to make gingerbread cookies is a good gingerbread recipe. I rescued our cookie cutters from the play dough box and let the girls cut out their own shapes!
Here are some fun family projects that we did to make the time go a little faster while waiting for our new baby to arrive! I tried to make each day of waiting fun for myself and my other kids.
