Meet American Girl Nanea Mitchell

Meet American Girl Nanea Mitchell

One my favorite things about having girls is seeing them enjoy the toys and activities that I loved as a child. American Girl is one of my all-time favorite brands. I loved collecting the American Girl dolls and accessories, making my dolls custom clothing and choosing new outfit sets from the AG catalog. I gave my oldest daughter my Truly Me American Girl doll as soon as she was old enough to take care of her and we’ve grown our collection with several new BeForever Dolls and the WellieWishers Camille and Ashlyn. My girls also enjoy dressing up American Girl’s latest BeForever doll Nanea Mitchell, a Hawaiian girl from 1941.

Interactive Activities for Stir-Crazy Kiddos

Do you sometimes struggle to come up with creative activities for the kiddos? My kids often have extra energy on days they can’t go outside. This means we get to do creative projects, make a DIY sensory bin, or practice learning new skills through play. Did you know kids learn something new from practically everything they do? Think about it. When kids ride a bike they practice balancing. When kids color they are practicing motor skills. When kids eat lunch they are discovering favorite foods or possibly trying new foods. DIY Sidewalk Paint and Outdoor Kids’ Activities

All stay-at-home moms know it can be challenging to entertain kids during the summer, school breaks, and open afternoons and evening hours. My kids regularly ask me to play with them or immediately default to wanting to watch a show or play games on the tablet. We limit screen time to about 1 hour a day, which leaves a lot more hours to fill with interactive and engaging kids’ activities. Here are a few simple kids’ activities to encourage imaginative play, also featuring Jubilant balance bikes!
