Things to Do with Kids in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho
We’ve enjoyed going on a ton of family adventures near Coeur d’Alene! See our full list of things to do with kids in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. We love going hiking at Tubbs Hill, where we can see gorgeous views of Lake Coeur d’Alene and get some exercise along the easy hiking trails. We often visit one of the many playgrounds in the Coeur d’Alene area, such as the Landings Park, Bluegrass Park, Fort Sherman wooden playground or downtown McEuen Park. Our kids also love going to the community splash pads which are open for the summer after Memorial Day.
Next, we often enjoy the coffee, restaurants and local shopping along Sherman Avenue in downtown Coeur d’Alene. Additionally, the downtown beaches are great destinations for a swim in Lake Coeur d’Alene and the North Idaho Centennial Trail is ideal for family bike rides.
Finally, we’ve discovered lots of indoor activities to do near Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Our kids love skating at the Skate Plaza roller rink and bouncing on the bounce houses at Jump for Joy. On Saturdays, we enjoy going out for breakfast at the Blue Plate Cafe in Hayden, Chomper Cafe or Belle’s Brunch House on Lancaster Road. The CDA area offers no shortage of fun and memorable family activities!

The cities of Coeur d’Alene and Hayden, Idaho offer many community parks and playgrounds for local residents. Here are our top picks of best playgrounds and splash pads for kids in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
A community playground is a great place for kids to get some exercise and for moms to meet new friends. Many of the local CDA neighborhoods have their own playgrounds, which are conveniently accessible for nearby families. In downtown Coeur d’Alene, families can easily stop by McEuen Park and the Fort Sherman wooden playground. Each playground is designed to create an interactive play experience for kids. I really appreciate that several local CDA area playgrounds such as Fort Sherman and Bluegrass Park have a surrounding fence that easily keeps kids contained. Other playgrounds such as McEuen Park and the Landings Park have splash pads with water features for kids. Going to the playground is a great afternoon outing for kids ages 2 to 10!
