Looking for something to do with kids in Spokane, Washington? The first time we visited Spokane we were impressed by the many splash pads available at the city parks and fun attractions such as the city carousel and family-friendly Manito Park filled with seasonal flowers. I’m excited to share our recent visit to the Spokane Children’s Museum and highlight some of the other fun activities to do in Spokane for families with kids.
The Mobius Children’s Museum in Spokane, Washington is divided into two parts. We got the bounce pass so we could visit both the Mobius Science Center (across from Riverfront Park) and the Mobius Children’s Museum located in the lower level of River Park Square. Both locations offer interesting activities for kids.
Mobius Science Center
This kid-friendly science center has displays that teach kids about friction, velocity, electricity, and recycling. Many of the displays are informative and interactive. My daughter had fun sending weights down a track, playing with a suspended spirograph and learning bout how tap water is dispersed and recycled.
This weight and motion activity at the Mobius Spokane kids’ science center is a fun way to learn about momentum and velocity.
We had fun making cool shapes using this suspended spirograph display which leaves pen lines on a piece of paper. Each design is always unique!
Mobius Spokane Children’s Museum
After we explored the science-inspired kids activities at the science center, we headed over to the children’s museum in the lower level of the River Park Square mall. This interactive kids’ museum is packed with attractions and experiments. Favorite activities included the fire station complete with firemen outfits and push cars and the theater stage and dress-up corner. The Spokane Children’s Museum features a fun themed section everywhere you look and they even host art classes and birthday parties!

Kids will love playing in this rubber chip filled sensory box, complete with dinosaurs and trucks!
Achieve your dream of becoming a theater star on the Spokane Children’s Museum stage or learn about dentistry and floss these huge teeth.
My daughter loved making hot dogs complete with ketchup, mustard and a cupcake on the side!
The coolest activity at the Mobius Spokane Children’s Museum was this Bubbleology activity which used bubble solution combined with glycerin and corn syrup to create huge bubbles! To make the bubbles, we lowered a metal bar into the bubble solution, pulled the cord to raise the bar again, and blew on the huge “screen” of bubble solution. The Bubbleology station was a super fun activity to try over and over again!

We had a lot of fun at the Spokane Children’s Museum and we would definitely visit again! I’d recommend both the interactive children’s museum and kid’s science center for a kid-friendly family stop in Spokane or a fun afternoon outing if you live in the area.
Can you spot little sister hiding behind the dinosaur? Apparently too scary.
Spokane Carousel and Botanical Gardens
We always love visiting the Spokane Riverfront Park painted carousel which costs a few dollars for a ride. You can buy tickets on site and choose from the 54 gorgeously painted horses to ride. My daughter loves riding the carousel every chance she gets! Sadly, this carousel is currently closed until construction on its new building is completed.
Manito Park and Flower Gardens
We also enjoy visiting the 90-acres Manito Park in Spokane which features spacious manicured lawns, playgrounds, walking and biking paths, seasonal flowers and rose blooms, topiary shrubs, a greenhouse conservatory and multiple picturesque gardens. Our favorite Manito gardens to explore include the gorgeously sprawling rose garden and Japanese gardens with Koi fish and picturesque views. A family tour of Manito Park can easily fill and afternoon and provide some great exercise and walking destinations.
