Easy Fall Tips for Face, Hair & Nails

Does your beauty routine change from season to season? In fall, I usually need to apply a bit more moisturizer to my hands and face. I also enjoy wearing bolder colors. I often pick out a few new accessories and stock up on my essential cold weather beauty products. Here are some of my daily care tips for taking care of my face, hair and nails.

Natural Color & Shine-Free Face

After the hot weather of summer it’s nice to experience the refreshing coolness of fall. Colder weather however often means dryer air, so it’s important to take care of your skin accordingly. Lately I’ve been using my regular gentle moisturizer and limiting excessive makeup. Natural mineral makeup is a great way to achieve a refreshed look. Healthy & Shiny Hair

The changing seasons can also be hard on your hair. This summer my hair was sun-bleached and exposed to chlorine and lake water. Colder weather can make hair dry and frizzy with static electricity. I like to keep my hair shiny in all seasons by using high quality conditioner with ingredients such as coconut and tea tree. I also sometimes give my hair a vinegar rinse to keep my locks shiny. To make a vinegar hair rinse, I mix together 1/2 cup water with 1/2 cup white vinegar. It’s easy to keep a bottle of vinegar in your bathroom and quickly make a vinegar rinse in a cup to use in the shower. Make sure to keep your eyes squeezed tightly shut while you are pouring on the vinegar and rinsing it out.

Photo-Perfect Natural Nails

After finishing up some gardening and yard projects this summer, I started regularly painting my fingernails and caring for my cuticles. I like using warm pink nail polishes as well as muted aquas and cool purples. Really, just alternating my nail polish color is fun! To maintain my healthy nails, I regularly use naturally formulated lotion on my hands and rub coconut oil into my cuticles. I keep my fingernails trimmed to a medium-short practical length. I also go through my nail polish often and throw away any old dried-out polish to make way for new 3-free nail polish colors.

Fall is a great time to get organized and give your skin, hair and nails a little TLC.
