American Girl is one of my all time favorite brands, with darling dolls and accessories and even outfits for little girls to match their dolls! My daughter had so much fun checking out some of American Girls’ latest little girl fashions that allow her to match her doll. This gorgeous Merry Magenta dress comes in a range of sizes for little girls and coordinates perfectly with the matching dress for my daughter’s American Girl doll Maryellen. I’m excited to share all the gorgeous details about this American Girl outfit for girls!
I loved American Girl growing up and I was delighted to receive my first doll when I was about 12. I loved picking out clothes and outfits for my doll from the timeless American Girl catalogs and even tried my hand at sewing a few custom American Girl doll outfits. Now as a mom, I feel that American Girl dolls are one of the most classic toys that my girls could own, available in so many styles and representing different eras of time.
Timeless American Girl Characters
I love how American Girl dolls give girls a tangible connection to history which inspires their love for learning more. American Girl has changed and grown a lot over the years but the dolls remain the same high quality and gorgeous toys, perfect for collecting or just enjoying little girl imaginative play. My daughters are 2 and 4 years old and I’m so excited that they will enjoy years and years of playing together with their American Girl dolls. I love watching their sweet friendship grow and encouraging them to be kind and loving to each other.
The doll’s Merry Magenta outfit comes with a sparkly black purse that hangs from a chain and is detailed with more sparkly jewels. A matching magenta headband features more jewels; the perfect touch to bring the outfit together. American Girl also offers a coordinating headband in a size perfect for girls.
Coordinating Outfits for Dolls & Girls
The gorgeous Merry Magenta dress for both dolls and little girls feature beautiful details and sparkly accents. The fabric is gorgeous; it is magenta and has a lacy overlay on top of a silky lining. The satin ribbon belt is detailed with sparkly jewels as a perfect decorative accent. The girl’s skirt is full and perfect for twirling and the back of the dress closes with a zipper. Both dresses for doll and girl have sweet capped sleeves and are a generous length.
My daughter can wear this dress all year long; layered with tights and a sweater in the colder months and as a darling sun dress in warmer weather. It’s also a size 6 so it will fit my daughter for several years and it can be passed on to her younger sister. This dress is also perfect to wear with my daughter’s See Kai Run black patent shoes accented with silver leaves.
The detailing and construction of this American Girl dress is also immaculate and feels like the fabric will last a long time. I recommend washing the girl’s dress inside a delicates bag and allowing it to air dry, which I usually do for all of our high quality clothing items, to keep them nice for a long time.
These coordinating outfits from American Girl are such a beautiful gift idea that any girl will love! I enjoy giving my girls high quality gifts that I know they will enjoy, rather than a bunch of clutter that will end up on the floor. American Girl is one of those brands that I know I will find something I love every time I browse their catalog or website. Of course, it helps that I loved these dolls as a little girl too! I love toys that encourage my girls to interact with others and be creative too. I loved making clothes for my dolls when I was a little girl and styling their hair. I’m so excited to be a mommy of 2 girls who can play together.
