Kids Activities  /  | Updated: June 23, 2026

If your kids are anything like mine, summer days call for something cold, creamy, and refreshing. Homemade frozen yogurt popsicles are one of our favorite warm‑weather treats because they are easy to make, fun for kids, and feel like a special snack.

Making yogurt popsicles at home also gives you control over the ingredients. You can choose lower‑sugar yogurt, mix flavors your kids already love, or even use Greek yogurt sweetened with honey. These simple popsicles are perfect for hot afternoons, backyard playtime, or an after‑dinner summer treat.

Why We Love Homemade Yogurt Popsicles

Frozen yogurt popsicles are a great alternative to store‑bought ice cream bars. They are:

  • Easy to make with just a few ingredients
  • Kid‑approved and fun to customize
  • Creamy and refreshing on hot days
  • Less messy than traditional popsicles

Layering different yogurt flavors also makes these popsicles extra fun. Each bite is a flavor surprise! Kids will love this refreshing and tasty creative kids activity and snack.

Ingredients for Frozen Yogurt Popsicles

You only need a few simple items to make these yogurt ice pops:

  • Fruit‑flavored yogurt (any brand you like)
  • Optional: plain Greek yogurt sweetened with honey
  • Popsicle mold

Some of our favorite yogurt flavors for popsicles include blueberry, strawberry, peach, vanilla, key lime, and orange creamsicle. You can use one flavor per popsicle mold or mix and match.

How to Make Homemade Frozen Yogurt Popsicles

Making frozen yogurt popsicles is simple and kid‑friendly.

  1. Spoon yogurt into each popsicle mold. You can use a single flavor or layer multiple flavors.
  2. If layering, add one flavor at a time and gently smooth each layer before adding the next.
  3. Once the molds are full, place the tops and sticks on securely.
  4. Freeze for several hours, or overnight, until completely solid.

We used three yogurt flavors per popsicle, but even two layers look colorful and taste great.

Layered Yogurt Ice Pops Kids Will Love

These layered yogurt popsicles are smooth, creamy, and healthy kids snacks. Unlike juice pops, they do not drip much as they melt. Instead, the yogurt softens slightly, making them easier for kids to eat without creating a mess.

Because yogurt brands vary in sugar content, it is helpful to read the ingredients and choose healthy yogurt options. Fruit‑flavored yogurt keeps these pops naturally sweet, while Greek yogurt adds extra creaminess and protein.

Whether you are enjoying summer days at home or hosting friends, these homemade yogurt popsicles are a family favorite we make again and again.

Enjoy!
