Kids Holiday Styles & Activities

by Katie Wallace | Updated: December 1, 2017

The winter holidays are my favorite time of the year. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years are wonderful opportunities to create memories with my family, establish traditions and throw festive parties! It’s also fun to buy kids new outfits for those special holiday celebrations. One of our traditions is allowing our kids to open one gift on on Christmas Eve, usually new pajamas. OshKosh B’gosh has affordable and adorable (or dashing) kids’ clothing for all your kids style needs. These modern kids clothing designs include outfit sets, pajamas, shoes, outwear and stylish separates!

This post is sponsored by Everywhere Agency on behalf of OshKosh B’gosh; all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

Kids Winter Fashion

My daughter loves getting new clothing. It’s fun to see her pick out her own styles and sometimes the clothes she chooses isn’t what I would have picked! Adorable separates from OshKosh B’gosh are easy to coordinate with other clothing we already have. These kids fashion picks are also great quality with gorgeous details; I love the colorful t-shirt designs and cheerful details on my daughter’s printed floral leggings.

Savor Winter Weather with Hot Chocolate

How do you entertain your kids around the holidays? We like doing seasonal activities such as playing in the snow, making hot chocolate, cutting out paper snowflakes and baking holiday treats and cookies. My kids have already enjoyed lots of snow play outdoors; a few weeks ago we had 13 inches of snow here in Northern Idaho. Hot chocolate is a fun treat for kids to enjoy with mini marshmallows once they come inside on a chilly winter day.

Make Holiday Decorating a Family Project

We put up our Christmas tree each year as a fun family activity. The kids are old enough now to actually hang up some ornaments and put up the stockings. We also enjoy decorating with kid-friendly unbreakable Christmas ornaments and soft garlands with twinkle lights. You won’t find many fragile holiday decorations in our home but I try to make Christmas fun and kid-friendly for our family.

How adorable is this OshKosh B’gosh unicorn t-shirt??

Bake Some Holiday Treats to Share

We like baking an assortment of holiday treats to give to our friends and neighbors. After all, holiday baking is a lot of fun, but who needs to eat all that sugar? Favorite treats to bake include gingerbread, holiday sugar cookies and homemade chocolate fudge. We’ve also made homemade butter toffee and dark chocolate peppermint bark in past years.

Enjoy the Simple Magical Moments

The holidays don’t have to be a flurry of activity. I love reading books with my kids while we sit on the couch and watch the snow falling outside. We can make a blanket fort in the basement and pretend to be snowshoeing through the woods. If we do have friends over, we can host a simple play date with kid-friendly warm drinks such as warm apple cider and play with homemade white glitter play dough “snow”. And when we do go out for a holiday party or Christmas caroling, my kids can bundle up in warm jackets on top of their holiday outfits. Mommy life is busy but the hectic days can also be memorable and fun.

Stock up on Holiday Outfits

The holidays are the perfect time of year to get your kids new pajamas and festive outfits. This year my girls picked out new dresses and my little boy has a wardrobe filled with cozy sweaters, soft pants and warm zip-up vests. I found many adorable outfit choices from OshKosh B’gosh at great prices! You can easily shop for kids style on the OshKosh website and save during their holiday promotions.

What tips do you have for entertaining your kids during the holidays?
