Our family road trip took us to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, where we saw exhibits about dinosaurs, gems & minerals, an IMAX presentation on flight and visited the Planetarium. We also had fun at the museum’s interactive kid-focused Discovery Zone, a highlight of our visit!
What do you like to do when the weather gets warmer? Our family loves to travel and explore new places. Our recent family adventures took us down the coast of California, over to Colorado and back up to Coeur d’Alene Idaho. We visited some of our extended family in California and stayed in our toy hauler RV trailer, which makes traveling with kids so much easier. Our RV provides our kids comfortable spaces to nap after a shopping trip and a place to rinse off after a swim at the pool. We can also wake up in the morning and make a full breakfast, saving money and reducing the hassle of eating out with little kids. Here are some of the highlights from our California glamping road trip!
The best travel destinations are places for families to make memories, get some exercise and enjoy some good old family fun. Zion National Park is a great place to visit and go on a family hike. We enjoyed exploring the canyon paths, walking in the river and taking in the gorgeous views on all sides.
Traveling in the winter can be a fun way to mix up your family’s routine and spend some quality time together. When choosing a hotel on a family trip, it’s helpful to research destinations ahead of time so you know how long it will take to get there and which amenities are available for your family to enjoy. We’ve found that family travel especially with young kids goes much more smoothly with a little thoughtful planning.
Taking your kids on vacation can be one of the most positive things you can do to improve your bond as a family. No matter how tight-knit you and your gang are, a family vacation allows you to create lifelong memories and joy.
When we travel, we have our 3 small children in tow. Here are some fun family-friendly activities we found in the gorgeous California town of Carmel-by-the-Sea.
This summer we took a trip down the West Coast with our young family. We choose budget-friendly destinations that would be interesting and feasible for young kids to enjoy. We enjoyed forest hikes and picnic lunches, walked along fern-lined canyons and deserted beaches, and visited several gorgeous vineyards. Here are some of our favorite stops in Washington and Oregon that were fun, inexpensive, and memorable for us to visit with kids.
We love exploring new places with our kids. I’m excited to share the highlights from our family visit to Mount St. Helens lava tubes and Ape Cave in Washington State.
This spring we had a chance to visit the Vancouver Aquarium in Canada. My kids had a lot of fun learning about many different sea creatures and observing a wide variety of fish and marines animals up close!
Traveling with young kids or even going shopping can be tricky. As soon as we had our 3rd child, we knew we needed to figure out some creative ways to escape the house with 3 kids. I wasn’t eager to leave the house with a newborn and two toddlers, so for a few months I only did errands if my husband could watch at least one child. Slowly I got used to the idea and now it’s a lot easier to take all three kids with me but I’ve still experienced some near-impossible events of having to corral the kids through the parking lot or chase them down while holding my purse and a baby. I’ve found the most effective way to keep track of my two toddlers is to trap them in the stroller, or let my more responsible daughter walk and trap my 2-year-old and 1-year-old in the stroller. I absolutely love our Joovy Caboose Ultralight. It has everything; seats, platforms, secure restraints, pockets, pouches, storage areas, and it easily folds up to fit in the trunk of my Civic. It feels just as streamlined as a regular stroller except that it fits two kids! I’m excited to share why I love this stroller, a basic essential for any family who enjoys getting out with young kids!
