It can be challenging to take care of your family and promote healthy habits! Shopping for groceries can take up half the day with 3 little ones in tow and folding 3 loads of laundry feels like an accomplishment. With spring weather just around the corner, I’m sure we are all ready to enjoy some sunny outdoor fun and leave behind the winter sniffles. Here are some healthy habits you can practice every day with your own family.
Drink Plenty of Fluids
Blackberry lemon water is easy to make and deliciously hydrating! Simply infuse fresh fruit into a glass of ice water to make yourself a refreshing beverage. I sometimes muddle berries to mix into my water along with a few slices of lemon. If you prefer the pulp-free route, mash up fresh fruit with lots of juice (peaches, berries, melon, etc.) and strain the fresh fruit juice into your ice water. Yum!

Give the Gift of Citrus
Citrus fruits are an easy gift idea to celebrate a special occasion and they promote good health too! I had the chance to sample some of the delicious Naval and blood oranges from Limoneira Citrus. - 2 tbsp. coconut oil
- 1/2 an orange, juiced
- 3/4 cup coarse sugar
Add everything together and stir. Use as exfoliating scrub on clean hands or on your body and rinse well.
