I’m excited to show off my DIY wood wall art! At the end of last year I welcomed my first baby boy, inspiring some boy-themed nursery decor. After two rounds of baby girls, I had a lot of tutus and glitter. I wanted my little guy’s nursery to be whimsical; my wood wall art isn’t anything fancy, just simple and made with love. I took words from Proverbs and painted three slabs of wood with the message “Grow in Wisdom, Grace, Strength and Courage.”
Do you have a little princess in your home? These DIY lace crowns made out of stiffened lace are SO fun to design and pretty easy to make! I made these glittery lace crowns for a birthday party and as a fun photography accessory. I expected them to be more challenging, but all you need are the right materials and a warm, sunny afternoon to air dry your homemade crowns. DIY lace crowns are beautifully intricate and delicate looking, and they are completely customizable! You can use wide or thin lace, vintage or modern lace designs, and pointed or rounded lace. I’ve seen lace crowns with roses around the bottom and other silk flower embellishments. Take your crowns a step further with rhinestone and feather detailing. For my project, I make simple glittery lace crowns with a touch of color and glamour.
Everyone can easily have a backyard herb garden. I enjoy growing herbs each spring and summer to use in recipes; rosemary for chicken, cilantro for guacamole, basil for pasta with pesto, and mint for lemonade and mojitos. Herbs can quickly add up in cost when you buy them at the grocery store and it’s a lot more efficient to buy an herb plant at your farmer’s market than purchasing herb cuttings. Pesto requires a lot of freshly chopped basil, one of our family’s favorite summer recipes, and a basil plant will grow all summer long if cared for properly. These inspiring ideas for crafting your own unique herb garden can be customized for your yard or patio orientation, available space and gardening ambitions.
