I have been homeschooling my kids for 4 years. I use a great curriculum and have a flexible school schedule. We do many creative activities and go on adventures! Here are my top reasons why I love homeschooling my kids!
One of my favorite things about homeschooling is having fun while learning. I find a lot of opportunities to teach my kids how to be creative. We do art, we bake, we build Lego castles, we go on backyard scavenger hunts, and we make a lot of memories while learning! Here are some of the fun things our family does while homeschooling!

There’s something really fun about making homemade slime. We made dark purplish blue slime with glitter and aqua water beads. Mixing up a batch of slime is Chemistry that kids can do themselves!
Slime is super easy to make and really fun to play with! Red, white and blue slime is a creative kids activity for the Fourth of July or any open afternoon!
Some of the best homeschool activities are fun, creative and educational. Playing word family dominoes is a great activity to reinforce phonics concepts. After all, many words sound the same but look different, and many words look the same but sound different! I created this word family phonics game out of cardboard and scrapbook paper. You can easily make your own set of game pieces and even customize them with words for your child’s learning level.

Preschool is a fun year to introduce kids to their colors, shapes, numbers and letters. I am homeschooling three kids and I think preschool is one of the more challenging years but also very rewarding. It’s challenging because preschool kids can’t read any of their own instructions and my 3-year-old typically requires constant guidance. However my preschool boy loves to learn and be included in our homeschool routine. To keep my son busy, I searched Amazon for engaging and creative preschool activities that would also get him excited about school.

My kids love playing with playdough. This is the best homemade playdough recipe because it makes bright colors and it’s not too salty. You can make it with ingredients you already have on hand!
Childhood often seems like a series of one moment after another filled with exploration and learning. Young kids can discover new things every day, such as how to pour their own cereal, how to tie their shoes, and how to sound out the alphabet. Older kids can learn the skills needed to teach themselves practically anything. You never have to stop learning. I’ve found many ways to make learning fun for my kids during summer break, weekends and ordinary school days.

Toys are tools for kids to learn and use their imaginations! We all remember our favorite toys and we often have vivid memories associated with our favorite things. For young kids, toys are also instrumental for learning. Our family has found it helpful to collect toy sets and not just add toys that clutter the playroom or easily break. Fortunately, you can still find classic wooden toys that inspire imaginative play! Here are 5 reasons why purchasing high quality wooden toys is a good investment for your kids.
