Girls love pretending to be mermaids. I know because when I was a child I loved the idea of mysterious mermaids with shimmery tails and under-the-sea hairstyles. The last few years mermaids have been trending in the form of dolls, mermaid tail blankets, room decor and even cookies! My daughter had a mermaid-inspired birthday party and decorated her room with mermaid pennant banners and pillows. Here are some fun ideas for all girls who love mermaids!
Homemade glitter cloud dough is squishy and fun to stretch and mold. It’s not salty like play dough so it won’t dry out little kids’ hands. We made fun sparkly cloud dough with just 3 main ingredients!
This spring we had a chance to visit the Vancouver Aquarium in Canada. We’ve visited many aquariums and it’s always fun to see the unique attractions each location offers. The Vancouver Aquarium has plenty of things to see and lots of interactive activities for families. My kids enjoyed learning about many different sea creatures and observing a wide variety of fish and marine animals up close!
Little girls come with lots of personality, interests and preferences, and heads of tangled hair. My little girls wake up every morning with huge teased bedhead hairdos, so my husband starts the morning routine with brushing out their locks. He’s so funny, one of the things he most looked forward to about having girls was doing their hair, and he faithfully brushes it out every morning while I’m changing the baby’s diaper and picking up clothes off the floor. I actually have hair envy of my oldest daughters hair. It’s perfectly wavy and blond; not too much so it gets tangled, but not stick straight like mine. My daughter’s hair holds curl beautifully. I was excited to try out some new hair products too; the collection of SoCozy curl hair products for little girls.

If your kids have ever watched the Disney show Sofia the First, you probably know all about Princess Sofia, Princess Amber and Prince James. This royal sibling trio go on many adventures and get into lots of mischief with their bunny pal Clover and other animal friends. One episode of Sofia the First specifically stood out in my daughter’s mind when we made “breakfast for dinner” the other day. My 4-year-old requested Sofia the First Goldenberry Pancakes, which Princess Sofia makes to celebrate her adopted twin siblings Amber and James’ birthday. Of course to properly enjoy Goldenberry Pancakes, she had to dress up as Princess Sofia and make her own magical amulet.
